Massey halls welcome international students from a variety of countries every year. Living in a hall with fellow students from New Zealand is a great way for international students to meet the locals, get to know the culture and make life-long friends.
University accommodation in New Zealand might be quite different to what you're used to in your home country. The majority of students living in our halls are young students (aged 17 - 20), so the environment can be quite social and may not suit students studying at postgraduate level. Please consider whether this environment is right for you. International students under the age of 18 years old cannot stay in halls of residence and instead must stay in a Homestay.
As an international student, all you need to do is apply for a place in the halls and wait for an offer. You can expect to receive an offer within 1-15 days. You must accept your offer, pay the fees and book your check in.
About the Application
When you submit an online application you will be asked to tell us about yourself and your lifestyle - this helps us to match you with suitable room/flatmates. Once we receive your application, we will check that your enrolment in your programme at Massey is confirmed. Please note that the halls have limited beds and the sooner you apply, the more likely you are to get an offer.
Before you apply, get to know our halls a bit better so you can choose the experience that suits you the most.
