Level of study
This Scholarship was established in 2019 by Fruitfed Supplies (part of PGG Wrightson Ltd). Fruitfed Supplies has provided technical products and services to New Zealand growers for more than 100 years, and wants to support future leaders and promote excellence in the horticultural industry.
Value and tenure
One Scholarship of $5,000 excl. GST will be awarded each year, tenable for one year only.
Typical number on offer
One per year
•Be undertaking the third year of an undergraduate degree in horticulture at Massey University in the year that they apply.
•Be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident.
•Be a full-time student, either internal or distance mode.
•Agree to participate in promotional activities and material for Fruitfed Supplies and PGG Wrightson such as photoshoots and videos for social media.
Applications must be accompanied by a supporting statement. Within this, applicants must demonstrate how they have shown a passion for the horticultural industry to date, outline where they would like to focus their career in the future and their professional aspirations.
Will be based on academic performance and the supporting statement
Selection of the Scholarship recipient shall be made by staff of Fruitfed Supplies in consultation with the Applied Academic Programmes Scholarships Committee
Conditions of the scholarship
•The Scholarship shall be offered but will not be awarded if no suitable candidates apply in Fruitfed Supplies’ view.
•Fruitfed Supplies may elect but is not obligated to offer the Scholarship in future years.
•The scholarship will be tenable for one year only.
•The scholarship cannot be awarded to the same recipient twice.
•The scholarship amount shall be a one off payment paid in May 2020.
•The scholarship may be held in conjunction with other awards.
